Welcome to the Poetree is an artistic initiative launched by author and poet Dele Akinrin, aka Dad.
The poems contained in the first edition of the book were composed by Jola and Joyin in the summer of 2017. They were aged ten and eight respectively at the time.
Dad was in his office when the duo walked in. They seemed bored. So he gave them a task. “Grab a pen and paper and write me a poem”. The pair complied and within twenty minutes they submitted their poems. Dad was quite impressed with the quality of their work, considering it only took them a few minutes to compose.
